Rules

Pyramid Solitaire is a card game that is played using a standard deck of 52 cards. The objective of the game is to clear all the cards from the pyramid by creating pairs of cards that add up to a value of 13.

To begin, a pyramid of cards is dealt face up on the playing surface.
The pyramid is made up of seven rows of cards, with each row containing a different number of cards (from one card in the top row to seven cards in the bottom row).

The remaining cards in the deck are placed face down to form a stockpile. One card is turned up from the stockpile and placed next to it, forming the waste pile.

The game is played by removing pairs of cards from the pyramid that add up to a total value of 13.
Aces are worth one, Jack 11, Queen 12 and King 13. All other cards are worth their value.
Only cards that are completely uncovered (i.e., not covered by any other cards in the pyramid) can be played.

If a pair of cards cannot be matched to add up to 13, the player can draw a card from the stockpile and add it to the waste pile.
The top card of the waste pile is always available for play, and the player can also move cards from the waste pile back to the pyramid if they are able to create a pair that adds up to 13.

The game is won when all cards in the pyramid have been removed or paired up.
If the player runs out of moves and there are still cards left in the pyramid and stockpile, the game is lost.

Tips

  1. Start by looking for any Kings. These are the easiest cards to remove from the board and can help you create space for other cards.
  2. Try to create pairs of cards that add up to 13. For example, a 9 and a 4 can be removed together, as can a Queen and a Ace. Keep an eye out for these pairs as you play.
  3. Don't be afraid to use the undo button if you make a mistake. It's better to go back a step and try a different move than to get stuck later on in the game.
  4. Try to remove cards from the top of the pyramid first. These cards are the most valuable and can help you create space for other cards.
  5. Pay attention to the cards that are still in the draw pile. If you get stuck, you can always draw another card to help you continue the game.
  6. Focus on removing the cards that are blocking other cards in the pyramid. Removing these cards can open up new options for removing other cards from the board.
  7. Keep track of the cards that you have removed from the board. This can help you plan your moves more effectively and avoid making the same mistakes twice.
  8. Be patient. Pyramid Solitaire can be a slow game, but rushing can lead to mistakes. Take your time and look for all possible moves before making a move.
